Starting in 2023, Prevented Ocean Plastic™ embarked on an ambitious new mission to open 25 Collection Centres by 2025.
This project will develop efficient waste management infrastructure in areas around the world where it is currently lacking, create reliable income opportunities with dignified working conditions for local people, clean up the natural environment, support a circular economy on plastic, and provide certified and traceable premium quality recycled plastic to global markets.
A ribbon was cut outside of a new build in the port city of Semarang. It creates over 40 direct jobs and has the capacity to collect 500 tonnes per month of high quality plastic raw materials for recycling.
A bigger space than a collection centre- is the first significant collection and recycling centre in the region.
