
Lawik Bakaba meaning “Story of the Sea” is an interdisciplinary performance installation, exhibition, and workshop created by London based artist Nasha Bahasoean from Jakarta. The project takes form of a social-cultural event to raise awareness about plastic in the ocean.
This multifaceted work combines live performance with installation, visual projection, film, and choreography. It opened with an experimental Indonesian dance performance by a team of dancers from London, UK and Nan Jombang Dance Company from Padang, Indonesia. On completion of the performance Nasha presented her exhibition on plastics, a collaborative venture with Sejauh Mata Memandang.
