Hot on the heels of Prevented Ocean Plastic’s recognition as a WIRED Trailblazer last month, the programme is proud to recieve a Global Good Award.
The Global Good Awards celebrate exceptional organisations and leaders driving meaningful change for people and planet. The ceremony was held on the 24th September 2025 at BMA House in London and set a spotlight on initiatives that deliver tangible, scalable impact while inspiring others to follow their example.
Prevented Ocean Plastic was awarded bronze in the Trailblazer of the Year category.
And that’s not the only recognition that the programme has earned recently.
Bantam Materials UK Ltd, the owner of the Prevented Ocean Plastic programme, was also highly commended in the Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year category at the UK Packaging Awards 2025. The 20th anniversary of the awards was yesterday.
Even earlier in the year, Prevented Ocean Plastic Founder, Raffi Schieir, was recognised as an Environmental Champion at the Environmental Packaging Awards. Raffi welcomed the endorsement of his work but said, “The real champions are the people who work so hard at collection, sortation and those who work with joy to deliver a programme we’re proud of, that is fit for business and values dignity at collection.”
