Reusable packaging and Covid 19: Putting the debate to rest

The coronavirus has sparked a new debate within the plastic industry around transmissions, with a resurgence in single use plastics. Concerns have been raised about the safety of reusables such as PET plastic and glass, although there is no evidence to suggest that packaging (single-use or reusable) contributes to the spread of the virus. This succinct policy paper from the reuse camp, Reloop and Zero Waste Europe, provide their perspective on the matter and how national governments and the EU should continue with their plans to implement policies that support the circular economy.
