By May 7, 2024No Comments

Prevented Ocean Plasticā„¢ are proud to extend a partnership that matters.

Today it’s official that a quartet of British athlete ambassadors that have already done a superb job spreading the word about a better plastic choice, will continue their great work:

šŸ Beach volleyballer + clean beaches advocate, Issa Batrane.

šŸ›¶ Marathon canoeist + clean rivers activist, Beth Gill.

šŸ„ā€ā™€ļø Pro windsurfer, clean oceans campaigner + recent Sky News interviewee Sarah Jackson.

šŸ“ 2024 Paralympian + cleaner planet champion, Martin Perry.

This hardworking team share a passion for sustainable choices, clean beaches and clean seas, with most of their number directly affected by coastal pollution while they train, practice and compete. They also know about a thing or two about real focus and dedication to a cause, and Prevented Ocean Plasticā„¢ are so proud to once again harness their superpowers for a better planet.

In Batrane’s words, ā€œHaving been a Prevented Ocean Plasticā„¢ ambassador for an over a year now has really helped me in raising awareness around the plastic problem we currently face, and more importantly the solutions. Everyone shares the same goal at Prevented Ocean Plasticā„¢ so being able to work as part of a great team towards a bigger goal is something that energises me to help protect our planet. Now the good work continues!ā€

Jackson and Gill have both previously shared stories of plastic pollution directly affecting their work, and have been disheartened to see the problem getting worse. But Gill says there is hope. “I admire Prevented Ocean Plastic’s dedication to addressing the issue of ocean plastic pollution while also prioritising environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Their approach of not only cleaning up plastic but also creating jobs and investing in research demonstrates a holistic commitment to making a positive difference. It’s inspiring to be part of an organisation that is making such a meaningful impact on a global scale.”

Jackson says, ā€œAs a professional windsurfer, the ocean is my office, but also my happy place and thus it is deeply important to me to ensure it stays a safe place not only for my lifetime, but also the generations after me. Plastic is a huge threat to the health of our oceans. I am so proud to be working with Prevented Ocean Plasticā„¢ and spreading awareness for making better choices around plastic.ā€

As well his work with Prevented Ocean Plasticā„¢, Perry has recently qualified for the paralympics, and become a new dad! “I want my daughter to grow up in a healthy and thriving planet, that starts with Prevented Ocean Plasticā„¢. I’ve been able to witness first hand the impact it has on reducing the use of virgin plastics in our ecosystem and seeing their amazing work in Southeast Asia is inspiring and gives me hope for the future of our planet.”

Prevented Ocean Plasticā„¢ progresses towards this summer and beyond with the right ambassadors on board.
